IMPORTANCE OF DOING SEHRI IN HOLY RAMADAN

Ramadan

Sehri means eating and drinking directly before fajr azan in order to get ready to fast of the day. Blessing comes from ALLAH Almighty and it can not be attained except by obeying ALLAH. It is observed that some people who fast do not give importance of having the Sehri meal and delaying it; they might take a their meal late night or before sleeping at night, because of the doubt that they may not wake up for sehri or because they desire to sleep much longer, or their ignorance from the blessing of sehri.

This is a big mistake and it must be avoided as it contradicts the Sunnah of Prophet (PBUH) and deprives of the great blessings of Sehri. A Muslim who intends to do fast should have to do Sehri, Suhoor has numerous benefits and great blessings. Among the great blessings of Suhoor is that it gives the power and strength that is required to perform fast, acts of obedience, helps in performing obligatory and voluntree acts of worship and increases person’s stamina and ability to do work. Waking up for Sehri is a reason for obtaining great bounties and attaining the various blessings of ALLAH Almighty and seeking forgiveness from ALLAH.
Furthermore, one of the great blessings of doing Sehri is that it makes it more easy for Muslim to answer the call to Fajr namaz, and it also has great rewards. It helps in performing the Fajr namaz on time with congregation. Besides, a Muslim who intends to fast take Sehri, he will not get tired of doing fast; rather, he will be excited for fasting. On the other hand, those people who do not take Sehri find really hardship during the fast. Among all the blessings and bounties of Sehri is that ALLAH Almighty places goodness and physical benefits in the activities of the one who take Sehri, so the person is guided for doing good deeds throughout the day of fast.

Muslim finds the great energy to perform voluntary and obligatory acts of worship, enjoin good activities and talk and forbid evil deeds and so on. Otherwise, if a person avoid taking sehri and does not take Suhoor, whole day fasting becomes very difficult for him to perform all the worldly and spiritual activities.

In summing up, the blessings of doing Sehri are too many to be counted and every Muslim who intends to do fast should take sehri. In Islamic Shariah, there is a great secret and wisdom that are astounding to the minds, and these are realizes by only few.

Verse 3:17 of Holy Quran,

The patient, the true, the obedient, those who spend [in the way of ALLAH], and those who seek forgiveness before dawn.

FEW THINGS THAT ARE PROHIBITED IN THE STATE OF IHRAM

Hajj

All praise is due to ALLAH Almighty. We praise Him, repent to Him, and ask for His assistance. We seek ALLAH’S protection from the wickedness of our deeds and evils of our souls. Whomever ALLAH Almighty guides will never be misguided and whomever ALLAH Almighty misguides will never be guided.

Fear ALLAH Almighty and know that ALLAH, out of His Mercy and Wisdom, ordained for you ordinances that you must not neglect and defined limits that you must not misbehave. He ordered you to glorify His sanctities and rituals.

Verse 32 of Surah Al-Hajj;

That [is so]. And whoever honours the symbols of ALLAH Almighty – indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.

ALLAH Almighty said in Surah Baqarah, verse 158;

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of ALLAH. So whoever makes Hajj to the House or performs ‘umrah – there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good – then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing.

Sanctify all rituals through entertaining sincere devotion to ALLAH Almighty and strict application of the Prophet (PBUH) course of conduct. Fulfil what ALLAH Almighty ordained on you of purification and offer namaz on time in congregation and also give advice to all the Muslims. Shun all that ALLAH Almighty prohibited to you, in addition to Qurbani (slaughtering) an offering and giving it as charity to the poor in Makkah.

You must sanctify these rituals in accordance with what is ordained on you by ALLAH Almighty, as ALLAH said in verse 197 of Surah Al-Baqarah:

Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do – Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of ALLAH. And fear Me, O you of understanding

Don’t apply any type of perfumes on Ihraam, whether incense or oils. Thus, a Pilgrim is not permitted to apply perfume or incense or to wash himself with any kind of scented soap. However, he or she is permitted to wash themselves with water and to take out dirt from his body. Avoid listening to music and musical instruments and avoid singing. Keep off all that diverts your attention from perfecting and completing your rituals. Avoid all the practices that are prohibited to you by virtue of Ihraam.

Male must avoid covering their head with turbans, covers, or any kind of caps, the prohibition of covering the head is only limited to men, but not to women. Avoid the kinds of garments that the Prophet (PBUH) prohibited you to wear.

FACING THE HOLY KAABA WHILE WORSHIPPING LIKE HAJJ, UMRAH AND NAMAZ

hajj 1

The Holy Quran commands all the Muslims to face the sacred house of ALLAH in Mecca while performing namaz that is an essential and basic tenet in Islam.

The historical view of the Islamic development of a sacred stone structure dates back to the fall of Hazrat Adam (AS) from Paradise (jannat) onto earth at Mecca. Angels covered this foundation with stones and Hazrat Adam (AS) went round the structure by following the example of the Angels. Therefore this reason stands that ALLAH designated and contemplated the Kaaba before its creation of the earth.

All the regions face the Kaaba and each region faces some particular parts of the Kaaba. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) adopted the Kaaba as a physical focus in namaz or salah as well as for some other acts of worship such the ritual of slaughtering animals etc. Thus, all Muslims have been physically and spiritually oriented towards the Holy Kaaba and the Holy city of Mecca in their daily lives.

Circumambulation of The Kaaba, very well known as ‘Tawaf’ starts from the Hajar-e-Aswad (the Black Stone comes from heaven). The circumambulator, if possible for him or her, may kiss the Hajr-e-Aswad. The Holy Kaaba in Mecca is never free from circumambulators.
Islam is very well known by many other western thinkers as the ‘champion of all religions’ because our religion Islam promotes and focuses on respecting others. The aim of Muslims in this world should be to convey the glorious teachings of Islam with honour and love.
Suppose that if there was no one direction to face then every person would have faced all directions which may have caused disunity and dissent in the heart of the Muslims. Therefore it was necessary to provide and fix a common direction for all the Muslims throughout the world. The fact in facing toward the direction of the Holy Kaaba is the spirit of worship (Ibaadat), and serenity and contentment of the heart, it is the reason Muslims are instructed to focus their sight on the place of prostration in Namaz so that they will be able to concentrate with soul and heart entirely.

ALLAH alone is the only one who is Creator and the One Who is worshipped. The qibla was not oriented towards Mecca from the start.  The Muslims firstly prayed towards the Al-Aqsa Mosque located in Jerusalem. After Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers migrated from Mecca to the Madina, the qibla was changed to the Kaaba.  Islam is a religion of peace and unity. All Muslims are united by their belief in One ALLAH.  The qibla is not only about degrees of longitude or latitude but it is about unity.  It is about Muslims united in the worship of the One ALLAH and Sustainers and the Creator.
